Global offensive alliance numbers in graphs with emphasis on trees

چکیده
For a graph G = (V,E), a non-empty set S ⊆ V is a global offensive alliance if for every v ∈ V − S, at least half of the vertices from the closed neighborhood of v are in S. A set S ⊆ V is a global strong offensive alliance if for each vertex v ∈ V −S, a strict majority of the vertices of the closed neighborhood of v are in S. The cardinality of a minimum global (strong) offensive alliance of a graph G is called the global (strong) offensive alliance number of G. We determine bounds on the global offensive alliance and the global strong offensive alliance numbers of a graph, and characterize the trees achieving two of these lower bounds. 88 M. CHELLALI, T. W. On global (strong) defensive alliances in some product graphs
A defensive alliance in a graph is a set $S$ of vertices with the property that every vertex in $S$ has at most one moreneighbor outside of $S$ than it has inside of $S$. A defensive alliance $S$ is called global if it forms a dominating set. The global defensive alliance number of a graph $G$ is the minimum cardinality of a global defensive alliance in $G$. In this article we study the global ...
متن کاملGLOBAL OFFENSIVE k-ALLIANCE IN BIPARTITE GRAPHS
Let k ≥ 0 be an integer. A set S of vertices of a graph G = (V (G), E(G)) is called a global offensive k-alliance if |N(v) ∩ S| ≥ |N(v) − S| + k for every v ∈ V (G) − S, where 0 ≤ k ≤ ∆ and ∆ is the maximum degree of G. The global offensive k-alliance number γ o (G) is the minimum cardinality of a global offensive k-alliance in G. We show that for every bipartite graph G and every integer k ≥ 2...
متن کاملSpectral study of alliances in graphs
In this paper we obtain several tight bounds on different types of alliance numbers of a graph, namely (global) defensive alliance number, global offensive alliance number and global dual alliance number. In particular, we investigate the relationship between the alliance numbers of a graph and its algebraic connectivity, its spectral radius, and its Laplacian spectral radius.

A global offensive alliance in a graph G is a set S of vertices with the property that every vertex not belonging to S has at least one more neighbor in S than it has outside of S. The global offensive alliance number of G, γo(G), is the minimum cardinality of a global offensive alliance in G. A set S of vertices of a graph G is a dominating set for G if every vertex not belonging to S has at l...
متن کاملGlobal Offensive Alliances in Graphs via Degree Sequences
A global offensive alliance in a graph G = (V,E) is a subset S of V such that for every vertex v not in S at least half of the vertices in the closed neighborhood of v are in S. We give an upper bound on the global offensive alliance number of a graph in terms of its degree sequence. We also study global offensive alliances of random graphs.
